After 10 years of operatic, jazz and and theatrical training, Mathew V moved from Vancouver, Canada to London, England at the age of 17, where he found his signature yet classic vocal style. Mathew’s formal training in Canada and his artistic awakening in London only solidified his signature sound. After returning home to Canada, Mathew’s first albums “The Fifth” & “Two Faced” included top 40 radio hits, international charting success and critical acclaim from the likes of Billboard, Nylon & American Songwriter. In recent years, Mathew has become a sought after topliner in the dance world, with #1's in 34 countries landing features with Vigiland, Shaun Frank, Raaban and more. Now with a catalogue over 100 million streams, a Juno nomination and fresh off a standing ovation at Massey Hall and a sold out Montreal Jazz Festival debut, Mathew’s debut vocal jazz album “Anything Goes” went number 1 on Canadian jazz charts, as did the singles “The Man I Love” & “My Boy.” Mathew’s trailblazing queer perspective on the Great American Songbook received critical acclaim from GLAAD, NPR, Broadway World, JAZZIZ, The Grammy’s & more.
